GuestHey folks! I need some serious help. My dog keeps having accidents in the house, and even though I clean up right away, the smell just won’t go away. I feel like I’ve tried everything—baking soda, vinegar, even some commercial sprays—but nothing seems to work long-term. What’s the best way to completely get rid of it?

GuestHey! I totally understand your struggle—I went through the same thing, and it felt like no matter what I did, the smell kept coming back. I found an awesome guide on Sidewalk Dog https://www.sidewalkdog.com/how-to-get-rid-of-dog-urine-odor-for-good/ that really helped me figure out what works. The problem with regular cleaners is that they don’t actually break down the urine—they just cover up the smell for a while. Enzymatic cleaners, on the other hand, completely remove the odor by breaking down the urine molecules. If you’re dealing with carpets, you’ll need to soak the area with an enzyme cleaner and let it sit for at least 10-15 minutes before blotting it up. Also, if the smell is spreading through the house, check any fabric items nearby—dog beds, rugs, and even furniture covers can trap odors. Washing everything thoroughly can make a huge difference. The guide on Sidewalk Dog goes over all the details, so I’d definitely recommend checking it out. Hope this helps!
