Hi all, hope everyone’s doing well and having a productive week. I wanted to ask for some advice after a conversation that came up during testing at our workshop. We were trying to adjust output levels for a piece of equipment without making permanent changes to the setup, and one of the senior technicians suggested using a variac autotransformer to control the voltage more gradually during testing. I’d heard the term before but never really understood where people find it most useful outside of demonstrations. For those who’ve actually used one, what kind of situations made it worth having and did it simplify the process?
