GuestJust wanted to share a small win. I manage a small cafetería in a busy industrial area of Sharjah, and we were going through those cheap 120L bins like crazy. The garbage collectors would literally rip the lids off every other week. After months of nagging, the owner finally let me order a proper heavy duty wheelie bin 1100l from Crateco and man what a difference. It showed up yesterday and this thing is an absolute tank compared to what we had. The lid actually stays attached, the wheels don’t wobble, and the plastic feels like it could survive being run over. My only minor complaint is that it’s almost too big for our back alley, so we have to be careful maneuvering it around the AC units. But honestly that’s on me for not measuring properly. The relief of not having trash bags ripped open by cats every morning is worth the tight squeeze. If your workplace is still messing around with consumer grade bins, just make the leap. You’ll thank yourself later.

GuestHonestly the lid thing is what kills most bins out here. Heat makes the cheap plastic brittle and then the hinge snaps the first time a truck tips it. How long have you had it, and has the sun faded or warped anything yet?

GuestWe had the same headache at our warehouse in Ajman. Switched to a proper 1100L last year and the collectors stopped mangling the lids completely. Only thing I’d add is a couple of rubber bumpers on the wall, since it’ll scrape paint when you swing it past the ACs.

GuestCongrats on finally winning that fight, I know how long those conversations drag on. A bin that doesn’t need replacing every few months pays for itself pretty fast. Hope the cats give up and go find another alley.

GuestCheck the HDPE thickness and whether it’s UV stabilized, because that’s what decides if it lasts 2 years or 8 in this climate. Also see if the lift bar matches your collector’s tipping gear, otherwise it can jam on the truck. The wheel axle spec matters too once it’s fully loaded.

GuestSounds good, but I’d wait a few months before calling it a win. Plenty of bins feel like tanks on day one and then the wheels crack under a full load in July. What did you pay compared to the cheap ones, and did the supplier include any warranty?
