Dianthus flowers can be pruned and deadheaded regularly to ensure that it grows more blooms and takes a nice shape. By removing the faded flowers, the plant is not able to dedicate its energy to seed production and instead it produces flowers repeatedly. Second flush of flowers is common to light trimming after the first vegetative cycle of flowering. Upon the conclusion of the season, pruning of the plant enhances healthy regeneration. Dianthus is maintained properly and therefore remains vivid, compact, and in full blossom every year.
