GuestI started getting calls and texts from Frost Arnett about a hospital stay from last year. They claim I owe over $2,400, but when I checked my insurance records, my Explanation of Benefits shows I only owe about $70. Now they’re calling multiple times a day, even after I asked them to stop.
To make it worse, my hospital’s billing department says they don’t even use Frost Arnett. The texts I get have links and phone numbers that don’t match the official website I found later. I’m not sure if this is a scammer impersonating them or if Frost Arnett is just this aggressive.
Has anyone else dealt with this? How do you get them to stop long enough to actually verify the debt? I read that misleading letters and collecting wrong amounts can be FDCPA violations, but I’m not sure what my next step should be. Any advice?
I found this article that explains some of the laws they might be breaking, but I’d rather hear from real people who’ve been through it: https://protectionforconsumers.com/facing-frost-arnett-debt-collection-harassment/
